I vote for a Hudson River Dinner Cruise AND WOULD BE HAPPY TO HAVE A TON OF DRAMAMINE ON HAND FOR THOSE WHO GET SEA SICK.
(Choices: Spirit Cruises, World Yacht or Jim Katzenstein's suggestion)

Here are my thoughts for the most inexpensive Hastings-based events, combined with any/all the replacement events for the Southside Club's $30 dinner:
FRIDAY NIGHT
Maud's for informal drinks
SATURDAY MORNING
School Tour, Zinser picnic, games and softball
SATURDAY AFTERNOON
Friar Tuck Complimentary Cocktail Party (if no dinner cruise) and check in for those staying there.
SATURDAY EVENING
Hudson River Dinner Cruise (check out Spirit Cruises and World Yacht), Friar Tuck dinner or renovated High School Cafetera/eatery.
SUNDAY MORNING
Center Restaurant or Friar Tuck breakfast
SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Hasting Pool Party

Fleming, Chuck     Hudson River Dinner Cruise

Heady Mancusi, Susan   $124.20 Formal Dinner where we had our senior trip, the Friar Tuck Inn 9/22/99
Hoffman Mosiello, Tish No time preference     10/28/99
Hopkins Greenburg, Kate Any summer month $60-70 per person

A restaurant down by the water. It's called Harvest on the Hudson. My mother said they just hired a new Chef from a popular restaurant in Manhattan, I think she said The Rainbow Room...outdoor seating during summer months and it's gotten very good reviews.

She also mentioned that the tennis club in Hastings, also down on the water, is largely expanding and renovating the restaurant with a huge bar area on dining room. They don't have outdoor seating but the view is supposed to be spectacular. This restaurant opens in February- anyway.

I think the Riverview Club is a good idea also

Not August.
Up to $50 Friar Tuck Inn 12/20/99
Shillinglaw, James Weekend in July or August "...something affordable, though I'm amenable to any amount that is decided"

The dinner cruise would be fun.

Also "Tony La Stazione in Ardsley is not bad. Could we actually rent out Maude's for a night, or maybe Manzi's?"

Really liked the 20th schedule.

Willing to help from Irvington

  • Feels the point is to come back to Hastings as things are changing everyday.
  • Possible Sat. dinner in the new, restaurant-like, renovated, High School Cafeteria or a new restaurant on the waterfront with a magnificent view.
  • Possibly move the picnic to Draper Park.
  • The Historical Society has renovated the Observatory (we could arrange a tour), and there's a playhouse for the kids (thanks, in part, to Jean Zimmerman)

20th Anniversary Reunion information...

First of all, everyone who participated in the 20th reunion should take great pride in the knowledge that it seems every single reunion after ours copied our innovative weekend itinerary. (They'll probably copy our "webpresence" too.)

Note our class' most innovative concept: Except for the formal dinner, there is no admission price for any event!

Since the schedule has withstood the test of years, let's start with that, then improve on it.

A Recap of the Class of '75 - 20 Year Reunion Activities:
(Click here to read classmate anecdotes)

Fri, August 18th
Evening at Maud's Tavern

Sat. August 19th
Morning School Tour and Memorial Plaque Dedication
Afternoon at Zinzer Park for Games, a Picnic and Softball
Dinner at the Southside Club ($30 per person)

Sun. August 20th
Morning Breakfast at the Center Restaurant
Afternoon Hastings Chemka Pool Party.

(Right off the bat, we can assume we need to upgrade the dinner location.)

The number one question: What weekend should this be?

The number two question: How much should we spend per person for dinner? Last time was $30.

The number three question: what are your comments on the above schedule?

Ahh... the joys of democracy... Ballot time!
