Judy Mucciolo Skroback started playing cello in 4th grade and switched to her first choice, upright bass, in 6th grade. Participating in both orchestra and jazz band throughout high school and college, she trained with Jack Messing in New York and earned a Music Performance Degree from the University of Arizona.

During college, she learned bass guitar, played in jazz trios and quartets and in summer stock theater. After college, her music jobs included a 4-year stint with a country gospel band and numerous musical theater productions. She continues to play for large events at Arizona churches and serves on worship teams at her home church.

Judy played in the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and is currently Principal Bass for the Sierra Vista Symphony Orchestra in Arizona. After a long career at the University of Arizona, Judy is now the Clinical Research Manager for SynCardia Systems, Inc., the manufacturer of the only FDA-approved artificial heart. She has been married to Randy Skroback since 1982 and they remain in Tucson along with their two children (Danielle and Ted), son-in-law (Phil), their first grandchild (Ryan), and Judy’s mother (Mary).
