Subject: A holiday celebration on PBS

Nashville Public Television has produced a terrific concert for
broadcast on Christmas night on most PBS stations. It's called
"Christmas from Belmont" and features the student ensembles from
Nashville's Belmont University with host Brenda Lee (you may remember
her from "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" fame). So if you're in a
holiday mood that evening and near a TV set, please check it out.

I don't expect to be anywhere near New York around Christmas so will
miss the holiday gathering. Here's wishing you and yours a happy
holiday (Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanza, or whatever your preference may
be).

Subject: Website Additions

There have been a couple of additions to our website, including a few pictures from the Hastings House gathering last week and a program for a Jazz Band recital senior year (the listed names are fascinating).

Also you might want to take a moment to visit the Alumni Scrapbook for pictures of classmates and their families, as well as the essays of the Hastings Memories section, where the recalled details will astound you.

Hope your holidays have been very special so far, and that your new year will be the best ever.

Alan, I just saw the pictures you posted from our 8th grade class...I
can't believe I looked like that...I look like a WWII refugee from
Central Europe. Ahhh!!!!!!!!!!

Now I remember why, also, Ms. Rabinowitz was Miss Westchester when she
went to Purchase.

Sadly, we lost a friend from Hastings earlier this week. Some of you might remember Frank Varcasia -
he was a few years younger than our class but his mother, Pat Varcasia, worked in the High School with my mother.
Here is his obituary from the Journal News:

VARCASIA, FRANK J. - Frank J. Varcasia, a lifelong resident of Hastings-on-Hudson, untimely passed away on April 17, 2004.
He was 42 years old. Loving father to Frankie and Gina Varcasia. Dear son to Frank and Patricia Varcasia. Fond brother to George,
twin brother Glenn and John Varcasia. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Hastings Funeral Home, Inc.,
15 Spring St., Hastings-on-Hudson, NY (914)478-0600. Funeral Mass Tuesday 10am St. Matthew’s RC Church. Interment to follow
Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Frankie and Gina’s College Fund.
