Dear Alan et al:
I convinced Sandy Gingras, class of 76, to come up and attend part of the
reunion with me. I can attend Friday night at the min. We have Homecoming here on
Sat., so I may have to stay up North. Sunday brunch is a possibility as
well.
Jane Gaughran is checking her calendar.
Who else is attending?
Our internet was down for a couple of weeks. Sorry I have taken so long to
respond.
Everyone enjoy your Labor Day!

Subject: What? The Class of '78 Reunion?

Hi everyone.

First, I want to remind Ray (and Susan) that this email address
(hastings@art-cetera.com) is a public forum for our class, teachers and
friends of our class, and that personal messages meant for me should be sent
to my private email address please.

As for the Class of '78 reunion in October, I love that they are following
parts of our class' successful reunion format, which includes a number of
free or low-cost events. Personally, it is too early for me to even start to
think about our reunion in 2005. That said, as long as I am welcome and live
nearby, I would be happy to casually show up to a couple October events to
see who I remember. (And if MY classmates are there, that will just ensure
the Class of '78 a much better gathering, right?)

Since Teri and I like having drinks at Harvest, we will be there Friday,
Oct. 11th, maybe not at 7 p.m., but soon thereafter.

Since I have been missing the Homecoming games, a hangover from Friday will
remind me to go to this one in my Varsity Jacket. (Yes, I found it.)

While I have no desire to crash another class' dinner dance, Teri and I will
keep Saturday free, in case classmates want to meet for dinner or something
somewhere.

I probably would like to sleep late Sunday, but could be convinced to have
brunch at the Center Restaurant (something I did just yesterday and
still can't believe how much I enjoy their pancakes).

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DO NOT LIVE CLOSE TO THIS RATHER INSIGNIFICANT
EPICENTER, I WANT TO DISCOURAGE YOU FROM VISITING IF IT WILL TAKE THE EDGE
OFF OF JOINING IN ON OUR OWN LANDMARK 30TH REUNION IN 2005. If
however you think you will have the desire to make both a 2005 reunion AND
an October visit, I suggest you post a message on this fairly public forum
and let the rest of us know.

Alan

Hi, everyone,

As one of the organizers of the Class of '78 reunion, I just wanted to add
to Alan's comments:

Many of us had friends in classes OTHER than the class of '78 and wanted to
let you all know that we'd love to see you again -- hence, our invitation.
Feel free to come to happy hour and the football game or breakfast at
Center Diner to mingle and meet old friends; no pressure at all regarding
the Saturday night dinner/dance (which should probably be just the class of
'78).

And I absolutely had no intention of taking away from your upcoming 30th
reunion -- so yes, for those of you living far away from Hastings, save
your enthusiasm for your 30th!

Sincerely,

Laurel Kiorpes Parker

Looks like Keith and I can make the game on Saturday. We thought about
leaving Josh for the weekend so we could get to Friday happy hour but he
just turned 16 ( did I hear a collective "Oh yeah, not a good idea" ) but we
remember all to well being 16! Hope to see some of you at the game. Laura

Congratulations to you, Chuck.

On a separate note, I think we need to lobby for a Hastings High School
music program hall of fame. Gotta do something for us former band and
orchestra members.
