Subject: Friday or Sunday?

I have been holding back my vote, because I didn't want to sway this one way
or the other. I figured if there would be a landslide in either direction, I
would not have to speak up. Well, the voting is close and I need to state
that I much prefer Friday, both because I have to work early Monday and
because my Sunday afternoon and early evening is committed. (Sorry, Chip.)

Alan

PS. If Sunday is chosen, please make sure it goes late enough that I will see everyone if I arrive eventually.

PPS. By the way, how WILL this date be chosen?... Has anyone been keeping
track of all the emails? I don't want to be the one responsible.

AND WHO HASN'T SPOKEN (emailed in) YET?

Well - my vote has to be for Friday. Though it's currently a long shot,
I'm trying to figure out a way to get back home to see all of you
because I have been reading all of these emails flying back and forth
all week long --- I want to be a part of it all.

Jim, that's cool about the Portugal house. I was there on my honeymoon,
stayed at Posadas. For anyone else looking for a cool, inexpensive trip to
Europe, I HIGHLY recommend Portugal. The variety of attractions is
amazing...just be careful driving across the bridge into Lisbon. The
confusion will make you think longingly of the Triboro.

Laura! Too funny! I was thinking the same thing...what can I say about my
two daughters? At 7 and 5 they haven't had a lot of time to develop their
savant skills. Kendall--almost 7--loves to dance and I fully expect this to
be her lifelong passion. Deeply in love with music, she was taking piano
lessons for a while but quit them because they were boring. She loves music,
though, and this past weekend when they were visiting they asked me to play
guitar for them. They both loved it, and practiced strumming. Kendall even
took a crack at playing an open G and seemed to be thrilled with that. Maybe
the guitar will be more fun for her.

But Steve: I have ENORMOUS respect for you teaching your daughter to play an
instrument. I'm amazed at the strength of your bond with her, that A.) she
will actually listen to anything her father says, and B.) that both of you
seem to have stayed out of extended hospitalization over the lessons.

I took them skating for the first time this past weekend. It took us an hour
to go around the rink twice, but they both loved it and I sure had a good
time watching them learn and be proud of making it around. I think that
might become a new favorite of theirs...Kendall will figure skate and Emily
will play hockey. Amazing how different two children with the same parents
can be. Emily played soccer this past fall for the first time...actually, as
a coach said to me at one point, when girls play soccer at age 4 it is called
"bunchball" because that's how they play--all bunched up, flailing away at
ball and shins indiscriminately. She is more active and loves to show off
how fast she can run. Kendall couldn't care less about exercise, except for
dancing. Emily lives to run and jump. She'll either wind up being a gymnast
or a horse.

Have fun this weekend, whatever day it may occur on. I really wish I could
be there. I'll be thinking of all of you.

Regards

Greg

Alan,

Late Friday night is a possibility. There is a School foundation dinner that we have committed to. This is a fund rasing event,  I would imagine it to be over by 11-11:30, perhaps a little later. It is being held somewhere in Tarrytown.

Subject: Special Incentive

I just learned DreamWorks will allow me to sponsor a small "event" at Maud's to help promote "Head of State" our new Chris Rock comedy, which opens 3/28.

I'll be giving out free promotional junk and passes to sneak screenings in the city on 3/15 and 3/27. Note there are TWO screening dates in case we somehow end up gathering on Sunday (even though I would prefer Friday).

So if you were undecided on whether to come join us and this sways you, you really need to get a life.

Actually, movie passes shouldn't be a factor in your decision to join us. Think of it this way... The world situation sucks. We could all be dead tomorrow. I say, reach out for others. Enjoy every moment you can. Don't waste a second...

(Wait... am I making a case for not showing up???)

Alan

Ok...got back to the Warwixk last night after Mauds, totally sober but dead tired at 3 am, and dreamt that Chuck and Pam Fleming became our next President and First Lady (respectively,) and Dave Virrill was the Attorney General, and you'll never guess who took Alan Greenspan's place. Yep, the Federal Reserver herself, Ms Farber.

As for the mini reunion, well..it was just tres kewl and swell.

Thanks to Alan for his terrific work keeping the web site going and allowing so many of us to reconnect and create bonds that will last us into the future.

And for you, Mr Kotiadis... you call me Snotty Ox one more time and I will hire my Uncle Vinny to wup your tiny hiney real good.

I too agree with Bill's feelings of seeing everybody at Maud's. Once again
Alan pulled off a great party. Being impromptu made it that much better.
Just so you know, we diehard's closed the joint down. For all those who
couldn't make it, you were there in spirit.
