Palisades Boat Club
A great spot for us, rain or shine, and it did rain, BIG TIME!
(New pictures are being added at the bottom.)
Use the directions
to get to this spot. Do not park in the RiverView lot. Use Warburton and walk
to the left of this building.
Walk under this sign...
...and down this path...
...and across this bridge and make a right turn...
(View from the bridge)
As you come down from the bridge, you arrive at this lawn.
Note the torches, spiral staircase to the clubhouse, and barbeque area on the
right.
Approaching the clubhouse, an historic building dating to 1865.
Looking back at the entrance from the top of the clubhouse's spiral staircase.
Looking down at a garden from the top of the clubhouse's spiral staircase.

(If it rains, we can party here and in the other clubhouse rooms.)

Members will erect a canvas tent over this area to allow cooking even if it
rains.
$30 per person includes use of the facility, steak, chicken and shrimp,
a keg of beer, bottles of spring water and birthday cake.
Bring your own wine, soda or booze.

Can host a dart tournement and possibly billiards (if a table is delivered by
August).

Clubhouse kitchen (we won't need it, as we'll be using the outdoor grills)
And then we took over...

It was soooo hot! Then the wind started to pick up, and we did the same, bringing
all the food indoors. Then the light show kicked in. What a blast!

Thank you Bill for a GREAT outing at the
boat club. It was an awesome location, including the unplanned (although
Alan did try to take credit) lightning show and you worked awfully hard
to fill our bellies with some great shrimp, steak and chicken! You picked
a great location!!! I hope you had some fun, too! And, finally, thank you all for welcoming
and putting up with my entire family, especially for not complaining too
bitterly when we took over the karaoke machine.

Subject: Re: Some pics are up, but we need more!!!!I am, folks, completely blown away by these pictures. I would love to have been
there (and not just because I've never been to this Yacht Club!). Having Sumner
Jaretski & Phil Riley, people I haven't seen I think since graduation is truly
a gift! Thank you for having this event and allowing us to view it from afar.
Our class, I believe, is very special. Among my co-workers none have reunions
or get togethers like the class of 1975. We should all be proud.David Walters

I too would just like to add my thanks to all those who organised and
participated in our 50th birthday bash at the yacht club. I am so pleased I
was
able to attend and to catch up with so many old friends from the fog of our
childhood.
Sincerely, Haz.
